Bunbury Electricity Privatisation Town Hall

Use Your Power - Fewer jobs

With both Colin Barnett and Brendon Grylls now committed to privatising Western Power, we are hosting together with Use Your Power, a Town Hall Meeting to talk about the impact of privatisation on the community.  This will be on Sunday 23 October from noon.

Privatisation will mean fewer jobs and apprenticeships as well as bigger power bills. Privatisation will also mean cuts to preventative maintenance budgets, resulting in longer waiting times to fix faults and increased bushfire danger. There will also be less money for health and education, because the State will lose the hundreds of millions in dividends and taxes that Western Power generates each year.

Facilitated by Meredith Hammat, Secretary UnionsWA

Please come along, enjoy a sausage on us and have your say on this very important issue.
