Together with the CPSU-CSA, we've succeeded in reversing some cuts saving important education and prevention functions at Worksafe. But cutting the number of Worksafe inspectors by 10% has not been reversed. Most West Australians are not aware of the very significant cuts to Worksafe. We need to keep up the pressure to get those cuts to inspector numbers overturned as well.
Here's the first of our two new videos that we're seeking funds to support wide promotion.
Worksafe inspectors enforce our safety laws. We can help prevent injury and loss of life by raising awareness and explaining the consequences for family, friends and coworkers. A bit extra in campaign funding will go a long way.
Our campaign can't afford to spread the work as far as we need to. To give you an idea of how your contribution will help, for every $10 a video will appear on 2,000 Facebook pages. In WA, there are 1.5 million Facebook pages we could target. Check out our second video here:
In preparing these videos we didn’t have a massive budget for research in the way that business, governments or political parties do. However we have devoted some funds to test key messages aimed at different audiences.
